Brief Status of BADVEL: 

Badvel is situated in Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh, its geographical coordinates are 14°45”0’ North latitude and 79°3’0” East longitude. Recently it has been converted into Municipality by merging of four surrounding erstwhile Grama Panchayats namely Badvel, Gunthapalli, Chennampalli and Madakalavaripalle and twelve habitations on 15th May 2006. It is 55 Km far from the district head quarter Kadapa and spread over and area of 42.15 Sq. Km.Even though the main economic base of the town is cultivation, it is the main urban centre of the region and attracts floating population from far and near 127 villages as a business centre in Kadapa District. This is the only town developed vastly without any large educational institutes like professional colleges. The town is well connected with other towns through bus route only. It is having a population of 50720 as per 2001 census. There is considerable growth in population and the present population of town will be about 70825 approximately. The nearest Pilgrim Centre Brahmamgari Mattam, Brahmamsagar Resorvior nearly 35 Kms. Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Anantarajupuram (Lakshmipalem).
